Your Role: As a Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the Maintenance staff and all of Hope Christian Services (HCS) buildings and grounds including the Bushman building, Lodges and Group Homes.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: High School diploma
- Two Years Supervision experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical systems. Experience in directing minor repairs and projects.
- Ability to manage maintenance staff and workflow of maintenance schedules.
- Ability to train staff in maintenance of all equipment and knowledge of hand and power tools, basic repairs of appliances and other equipment
- Knowledge of facility systems (HVAC, Generator). Keep records of generator.
- Snow shoveling, climb ladders, lift 50lbs independently.
- Communication: Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to communicate with team, other staff members and vendors.
- Compliance: Must pass a criminal background check and submit to drug testing. Will be checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and the Child Abuse Registry.
- License: Valid driver’s license
Your Day-to-Day:
- Curriculum Implementation: Follow and adapt the curriculum as needed to meet individual
- Provide a safe living environment, ensuring all necessary repairs in a timely manner.
- Monitor facilities tickets and vehicle tickets for timely repairs.
- Report any major repairs and cost.
- Repair vehicles or schedule appointments for repairs.
- Report all possible safety hazards.
- Follow ECCR policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all vehicles, buildings, machines, plumbing, electrical equipment, furniture are in good working order.
- Ensure compliance with appropriate infection prevention, OSHA, safety and all standards established by state and licensing agencies.
- Subcontract jobs when needed to building, group homes, vehicles.
- Ensure that swimming pool is maintained according to regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs, generator records and all other required.
- As needed, Order parts for machines, vehicles, building repairs and housekeeping and laundry supplies.
- Monitor budget expenditures, adjust expenses and overtime to adhere to budget guidelines.
- Participate in HCS committees as requested.
- Conduct interviews of applicants.
- Be available for on-call or emergencies when needed. Carry emergency phone 24/7.
- Cooperate with HCS and the State of NJ Department of Human Services in any inspection or investigation.
- Provide a safe working area free of hazards.
- Ensure that maintenance staff provide a clear road and parking lots in winter snow falls.
- Prepare and enter schedules for staff.
- Effectively communicate effectively to all staff on projects and daily work.
- Complete staff performance evaluations, counsel and discipline staff when necessary.
- Provide leadership to all staff.
- Delegate jobs and repairs.
- Inspect work of assistants and provide training for repairs, tool use and safety.
- Inform staff and administration of use of chemicals throughout the buildings and properties.
